Scoring Sheet for Cloved Fruit Contest

Rules:

Multiple Entries - Contestants can enter into more than one category
Group Entries - one or more contestants can enter as a group in the performance categories

No documentation is required

Scoring Criteria:

Creativity (0 to 10 points):

• Standard style with no innovations. (Grenade style lobbing of the fruit)
• Logical combination of elements with some innovation of embellishment or techniques, all logical to period.
• Logical combination of elements with more innovation of embellishment or techniques, all logical to period.
• As in #2 above, but with much individual interpretation and interpolation logical to period.
• As in #3 above, plus each element is logically innovative to itself. Elements work together in a cohesive fashion. (The Presentation makes the audience go, "AAAAAhhhhhh!")

Quality (0 to 10 points): How well is the entry made/presented? Rank the success of the entry on a scale of 0 to 10 points for each of the following elements and average for the total Qualityscore

• Technical (construction, neatness and finishing).
• Functional (Do the pieces work as they are supposed to?).
• Choice and handling of the materials.

Authenticity (0 to 10 points):

Entry is completely modern with no relationship to period elements or practices.

• Use of modern materials and methods to produce a work that would not be accepted in period but either bears some relationship to an authentic work or which might be useful within SCA Culture.
• Use of both modern materials and methods to produce a work that looks or feels authentic to the time period it purports to be.
• Use of either modern material or methods to produce a work that looks or feels authentic.
• Use of totally authentic materials and methods (ex: Was there punnage involved?).

Judge's Observations (0 to 10 points): Rank the entry as a whole. How well do all the separately judged parts fit together? The entry's overall effect is judged in this section. This is the only section of the Criteria where the judge may allow her/his personality, private opinions and personal preferences to influence scoring. Did the Presenter show proper respect and honor for the object of their affections?
